Walla Walla County Clerk and Superior Court

The Walla Walla County Superior Court sits at 315 W Main St, Floor 3, Walla Walla, WA 99362. The court has two departments. Department I is reached at 509-524-2790 with Judge Brandon L. Johnson presiding. Department II is at 509-524-2795 with Judge M. Scott Wolfram. Commissioner Patricia Fulton also serves the court. Court Administrators are Kelly A. Skramstad for Department I and Rachel R. Taylor for Department II.

Services provided by the Clerk's Office include public records, criminal, civil, domestic, probate records, and juvenile offender records. To request court documents, email clerk1@wwcowa.gov or use the Washington State Archives Digital Archives. New ex parte hours are Monday through Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. All new case filings must include a cover sheet. The court does not accept fax filings or e-filings at this time.

The Washington State Digital Archives Walla Walla County Superior Court Case Files collection spans from 1926 through 2026 and contains over 1.4 million records. This is one of the most comprehensive county court collections in the Digital Archives. The collection includes official documentation for all case types: civil, criminal, divorce, and probate. Each case file may contain awards, complaints, decrees, depositions, orders, pleadings, sentences, and verdicts.

Some case types in the collection are restricted. Public access to adoption, dependency, and mental competency proceedings is restricted; those files are not available online. If you need a restricted case file, direct your request to the Walla Walla County Clerk's Office. Additionally, case documents in this collection are not previewable before purchase. Contact the county clerk before ordering if you are unsure whether the documents you need are in the collection. Sealed or confidential documents cannot be purchased online. Under GR 31(e)(2), the responsibility for redacting personal identifiers rests solely with counsel and the parties, not the court or archives.

Walla Walla County District Court

The Walla Walla County District Court is at 317 W. Rose Street, Walla Walla, WA 99362. Office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a lunch closure from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Call 509-524-2760 or fax 509-524-2775. Presiding Judge Kristian E. Hedine and Judge Jared N. Hawkins preside over the court. Administrator Lisa D. Winnett manages operations.

The District Court handles limited-jurisdiction matters: traffic infractions, misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor criminal cases, civil lawsuits up to $100,000, small claims, and protection orders. You can pay fines online, view courtroom hearings through Webex, and access a Probation Portal through the court's online system. To request District Court records, use the records request form. The form requires a $20.00 records search fee per request. You must provide identifying information: either a name and date of birth, a name and Washington driver's license number, or the case number. Specify which document types you need from the available options and whether you want certified copies. Copies can be picked up during regular business hours, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., or sent by mail, fax, or email. Documents not claimed within 30 days require reapplication and prepayment.
