Everett Municipal Court

Everett Municipal Court handles traffic infractions, misdemeanor criminal cases, and gross misdemeanors within Everett city limits. The court does not process felony cases. Everett is the county seat of Snohomish County, so the municipal court and the county superior court are both located here.

Everett Municipal Court Records are maintained and released by the court itself. These records are not subject to the Public Records Act. You cannot get them through the city's general GovQA portal. If you submit a court records request to the city's records office, staff will refer you back to the court. Go directly to the court from the start.

City Public Records: What Is and Is Not Included

The City of Everett operates a Digital Records Center (DRC) at everettwa.gov that provides instant access to a wide range of non-court records. The DRC includes City Council minutes and agendas, ordinances, resolutions, permits, Public Works records, bid documents, contracts, agreements, and budgets.

Police records are handled separately through GovQA at the Everett Police Department Records Unit. Police records include investigations, police reports, collision reports, and body worn camera footage. The police department is at 3002 Wetmore Ave, Everett, WA 98201. Phone is 425-257-8539. Email is PublicDisclosure@everettwa.gov. Note that Everett Municipal Court records are completely excluded from this process. EMS and medical records are also not subject to public records requests; those go through a separate fax process with patient authorization.

This portal covers city administrative records only. Court docket filings must be requested through Everett Municipal Court or Snohomish County courts directly.

City of Everett Records Fees

For general city records, Everett uses a standard fee schedule. Inspecting records is free. Printed paper copies (8.5 x 11) cost $0.15 per page. Scanned copies are $0.10 per page. Electronic files and email attachments cost $0.05 per four files. Electronic transfer of footage or videos is $0.10 per gigabyte. Digital media storage is at actual cost. Mailing is at actual cost. Converting emails to PDF format costs $30 per hour.

Body worn camera footage is a special category. BWC redaction costs $38.41 per hour plus $0.64 per minute prorated. Copy charges can be paid by cash, check, money order, MasterCard, or Visa. Requests for records must be in writing and accompanied by the Request for Records Form.

Snohomish County Superior Court charges separately: $25 per hearing date for audio recordings. Non-certified copies have their own fee schedule at the Clerk's Office. Contact the Snohomish County Clerk directly for current pricing on certified copies and document orders.

Snohomish County Superior Court Records in Everett

Snohomish County Superior Court is located at the Snohomish County Courthouse, 3000 Rockefeller Ave., M/S 502, Everett, WA 98201. This is the court that handles felony cases, civil matters over $100,000, family law, probate, and juvenile cases for all of Snohomish County, including Everett.

The Snohomish County access court records page explains the three ways to get records: online through the Washington State Digital Archives, in person at the Clerk's Office, and by mail. Audio recordings of hearings cost $25 per hearing date. Digital recorded hearings can be requested via an online button. Court reporter hearings require contacting Superior Court Administration for transcripts.

The Odyssey Portal is available for attorneys and businesses needing frequent access to Snohomish County case records. Public users can access the Digital Archives for individual document purchases.
