Local Rules and Access Notes
Clark County Superior Court follows Washington State general court rules plus locally adopted Clark County Local Rules. Case records in Clark County are governed by GR 31, not RCW 42.56. That distinction matters: you cannot submit a Public Records Act request and expect to get court filings back. All records requests must go directly to the Clerk's Office or through the Odyssey Portal.
Public access terminals are available at the courthouse for those who prefer to search in person without setting up a portal account. The terminals display the same information as the public Odyssey view. If a document is sealed or a case type is confidential (such as juvenile dependency), it will not appear in any public search. For those matters, attorneys of record may petition for access through the court.
Court announcements, local rule updates, and judge calendars are posted on the Clark County official site, making it worth bookmarking if you regularly deal with Clark County court docket matters.
