Issaquah Municipal Court: A Regional Court

Issaquah Municipal Court is authorized to hear all criminal misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor cases, as well as traffic, non-traffic, and parking infractions within Issaquah, Duvall, North Bend, and Snoqualmie. This makes it one of the more regionally significant municipal courts in east King County. If you have a case from any of these four cities, Issaquah Municipal Court is where the court docket records are held.

The court's mission is to establish and maintain public trust and confidence in the administration of justice. Remote hearings are allowed in most cases except arraignments (unless good cause is shown), sentencings (unless good cause is shown), and other cases where the court finds cause for in-person appearance. A virtual court page is available for attending scheduled remote hearings.

The Issaquah Municipal Court page posts scam alerts, court updates, and the virtual hearing portal. A recent scam advisory notes fake texts impersonating the WA State Department of Licensing. Call the court directly at 425-837-3170 to verify any ticket or notice you receive.

Issaquah City Records vs. Court Records

For general city records not related to court cases, the City Clerk's Office handles public records requests. The office is at 130 E. Sunset Way, Issaquah WA 98027. Phone is 425-837-3001. Email is PRR@issaquahwa.gov. The City Clerk is the Public Records Officer for all non-court city records.

The Issaquah public records page breaks down record types into Police, Municipal Court, Land Use and Permitting, and All Other City Records. It also handles inter-agency requests for law enforcement and legal agencies. Many records are available on the city website already. Check online before submitting a formal request to save time.

Note: Municipal Court records are listed as a category on the public records page, but the actual request for court case records must go through the court itself, not the City Clerk's Office. Use PRR@issaquahwa.gov for city records and 425-837-3170 for court case records.

State v. Blake Refunds and Vacated Convictions

Issaquah Municipal Court has processed and vacated all Blake-related convictions. The State v. Blake decision found that Washington's simple possession drug statute was unconstitutional. If you had a conviction that qualified, it should already be vacated. Legal financial obligations paid for those convictions may be eligible for reimbursement.
